Pampanga Gov. "Among Ed" Panlillo's Los Angeles Visit

Governor "Among Ed" Panlillo of Pampanga visited the Southland this weekend and for three days Kapampangans in Southern California revered in his presence. His stay was brief, but it was filled with several appearances and speaking engagements, some of them organized by the Pampangan Crusaders USA (PamagCUSA), including a forum with Fil-Am community leaders at the Search to Involve Pilipino Americans in Historic Filipinotown on Saturday, September 6. On Sunday, we was a guest during the second annual coronation of the Virgen delos Remedios at the Our Lady of Angels Cathedral in Los Angeles. The "superstar" governor sat at the front pew, together with the organizer of the religious event, Pampangan surgeon, Dr. Aguas. After the coronation ceremony and high mass, a dinner-reception followed at the Ocean Seafood Restaurant in Chinatown that was attended by some three hundred Kapampangans. The high mass at the cathedral was con-celebrated by Pampanga Bishop "Ambo" David, and a contingent of Los Angeles and Pampanga priests and Archbishop Oscar Solis of the Los Angeles Archdiocese. Photo-Reporters Guild officers Rene Villaroman and Larry Pelayo covered the events.
